a shot in a billion

just received these pictures by email, they were quite beautiful, so i'm sharing them with you. this time i've saved the mail. so if anyone would like me to forward on the pictures, let me know.

my favourite are the little ducklings, following the dog, down the road:). really cute.

i've been having a debate with my younger brother, on our all time favourite movie list.this weekend i purchased the dvd, of, "the sound of music", my all time favourite, simply as it's the first full length movie i ever watched in the cinema, secondly i could sing to " do re me",when you are just six, the undertones of the second world war, nazi's taking over Europe, these things don't matter to six year olds.the hills being alive with the sound of music, and cute kids were more inviting.as an adult, i still enjoy, happy movies, movies from the art circuit, "memoirs of a geisha","the leopard",generally what arshad would call chick flicks, is it because i am a girl, and have been trained to like pink.i can't stand pink, but i like "girly" movies, i wear jeans rather than skirts, prefer glasses rather than contact lenses, a clean scrubbed face, rather than a made up one, does that make me a boy.i think not, i could not watch "top gun" more than once.

arshad's favourite all time movie is, ofcourse, "top gun", he has memorised the dialogue, i am told it is "the" all time guy flick.the reasoning escapes me, for me it was the type of movie you watched once, if, at all.

the debate however, is what movie will become azaad's all time favourite, i purchased "the sound of music", as i believed he should watch it when old enough, arshad will have him watch "top gun", according to my younger sibling, our nephew, is really a guy, so "top gun" will be his chosen movie, he thinks the sound of music, is just to girly. regardless i am sticking to my guns, and the little fellow, will watch them both. if his favourite colour becomes pink, hey who cares, there's a new catch phrase the metro sexual, that does not necessarily mean, he will be to feminine,i believe he will be a more sensitive man if he enjoys "the sound of music". arshad thinks it's just gay.we have years to watch this debate play out.

on the movie note,"no country for old men" opened to rave reviews, garnered a host of awards, for the coen brothers, once again, i couldn't see beyond the violence, fantastic script, great direction an acting, just not the type of movie i would watch twice.arshad on the other hand, found it to be a keeper, the kind of movie one purchases on dvd, to be watched again and again.there is no accounting for taste,or choice,it is these differences that make life fun.

Top Gun is IT!

I saw it last week for the 167th time. Out of which 11 times have been in the theatre.

I was dismayed to discover that I can only remember 80% of the dialogue. Should see it a few more times soon to fix that.

Thank.

PS I lurve Sleepless in Seattle too.

Its penis envy, the tomcat being the bigger one.
