2 years later and the judge finally passed the sentence on riaz and nabeela kadwa.
i've been thinking what on earth could posses any human being to take a life,...and further your very own parents,...and then to watch them die, while you busy yourself planting the weapon and parts of the weapon all over the house.
justice fritz van oosten was absolutely correct, riaz is definitely a "self confessed master of deceipt" . he wears a beard and islamic dress, appearance's of innocence and pioty, yet he pulled the trigger of a gun that killed both his parents in cold blood, .....there is still debate about the inheritence of the estate,to be quite blunt,..i believe neither the daughter nor the son, should have any entitlement,...the proceeds of the estate should be handed over to any of the charities that doctor kadwa, spent his life helping,...i believe that they would be more deserving. if the motive was financial. then riaz is definitely a short sighted idiot,...the father was supporting the lifestyle of son and his spouse,..as riaz seemingly had no ability or need to effectively take care of himself,... the clever "asshole", would have continued to have his needs looked after by a hardworking father while sitting on his rear end,..the stupid asshole,..cuts off the hand that feeds him.he could have been fed ad infinitum.instead, he will now rot in jail and hopefully never inherit a penny.
i wander if either of the children fully understands the enormity of this act,...punishable by the "fires of hell",...no amount of prayer could be of any help hear,..in an islamic world, they would be beheaded which regretably has been outlawed in south africa, it's at times like these that the death penalty should be imposed.
further how could you even contemplate keeping the family fortune, really,.. blood money can never bring "barakat" to your life,...but hey we are human and money is usually described as the "root course of all evil".
this is really sad, in a country held ransome by professional criminals,..with a government quite ineffectual in it's dealing with crime and criminals,...our own children are using that rather lame excuse to murder parents for money.
this i believe is symptomatic of a country, unravelling at the seams, without a moral centre, things are deteriorating rapidly.i believe strongly,..that no amount of education, funding,or any other attempt to secure the have nots,...can ever replace common sense or morality. south african's need to relearn the value of life,..to take back the moral compace in our lives,..to value what we have in the world. no amount of education could ever replace the basics,...how does democracy benefit us when our children, the future of this country ,would rather kill, rape and steal to make a quick buck. there is something quite horribly wrong with this picture. i pray that we find our way back to a firmer moral centre.
this country could become better than great, we just need to do our part.

Is this malice country specific or is it the problem of the times - that some youngsters seem to value nothing but money and have no qualms about living by violence?
Is it a result of the consumerist culture today?
i believe a little bit of both. only in south africa, violent crime has become some what of a virus.
which is really a shame, as we have a lot to offer the world, one of the side effects of apartheid has resulted in a culture of non-accountability
I would just like to say that what u said about the Kadwa children was rather disgusting, but, before being the judge of them (as Allah alone is the judge and not some Fritz old biased man) you should rather refrain from saying such things as what happened in that trial (as i was there throughout) was clearly something fishy that was pushed by family members and way too much money was exchanged. I have watched those children grow up b4 my eyes and seen the love they had for their parents and there is no way they did that. It is disgusting how our own muslims can talk of other muslims children. Before u call people 'assholes' etc think about the children or nieces or nephews it could happen to in your family and how you would judge them. Let Allah deal with them, because i have no doubt they are innocent. Allah can test us in mysterious ways. We dont know it could happen to us tomorrow and we are also innocent.
Jazakallah
Only he and Allah alone know what transpired that fatal night.
